Sara "Sadie" Roberts was the daughter of John Bethel Roberts and Emma W. Knight Roberts.

Sara "Sadie" Roberts and Charles Alford Caldwell were married in 1896. The Kemper County Court House burned and the marriage license is not available. Sadie stated on the 1900 US Census that she married in 1896. Sadie was enumerated on the 1896 Kemper County Ms. school records by her married name Sadie Caldwell and J. B. Roberts as her parent. Although a marriage record has not been located, the below school record provides the Roberts-Caldwell connection.

Sara Mae "Sadie" Roberts Caldwell is buried in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Kemper County, Mississippi. She is buried next to her husband, Charles Alford Caldwell and near other family members. (There was confusion as the cemetery was originally thought to be in Lauderdale County.)
