Whitehurst, Jehu - d. March 8, 1892 in North Muddy township. He was born in Richland County, OH on May 1, 1812 and married Lodicia Colwell on Feb 25, 1835. He came to Jasper county in 1839 where Advance is now and in 1857, moved to the homestead where he died. Mrs. Whitehurst died in 1887. Nine children, 4 sons and 3 daughters survive. Interment was in Kedron cemetery. Mar. 16, 1892
