Colonel Boone Hunter was born August 16 1887, in Franklin County, Arkansas, and died September 19, 1927 near Mulberry, Franklin County. His death is noted as a "mysterious death on the railroad tracks." He married Myrtle Venita Crocker about 1907, in Lone Elm, Franklin County. She was the daughter of Dr. Jacob Thomas Crocker and Mary Elzora Hamm. They had four children: Monte Ray, Colonel Boone, Jr., Mary Jo, and Bobbie Ann Hunter. Colonel's parents were Creed Casper Hunter and Cener Boone. Cener was the daughter of Col. Squire Boone and Tennessee Bourland. Colonel was descended from Edward Boone (1740-1780), brother of Col. Daniel Boone (1734-1820), the explorer.
