Elsie M. Wertz, 78, was a resident of Nortonville, KS,when she passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2009.
Elsie was born in Hiawatha, KS, the daughter of James and Louise Muller McFeeters. She attended schools in Hiawatha, KS.
Elsie was a unique individual, a wonderful chef serving for many years in the dietitian department of the former Thompson's Restaurant and LaMall Restaurant of Atchison, KS, and then in restaurants in Wichita, KS, from 1973 until moving to Nortonville, KS, in 2002.
She was an avid walker, enjoyed cooking, gardening, raising chickens and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Elsie M. Wertz is survived by three daughters; Mary "Tossie" (Dean) Kirkham, Valley Falls, KS, Loretta (Paul) Light, Salina, KS, Shelly (Jack) Hanby, Fredonia, KS, three sons; Bob (Tina) Focks, Chetopa, KS, Larry (Sheila) Focks, Greenfield, IN, John Sinclair, Wichita, KS, twenty-eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; James and Louise McFeeters, two sons; George Focks, & Arthur Reynolds, her spouses; Robert Focks, Bob Sinclair, Alvin Reynolds, Bob Wertz, a sister and two brothers.
Services to be held on Saturday, October 03, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Atchison, KS, with burial to follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to Village Villa Nursing Center and may be left in care of the funeral home.
