John "Dee" Ellingson, 87, of Horton, Kansas, formerly of Lancaster, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas.
He was born on May 12, 1922 in Horton, Kansas the son of John & Veva Tinsley Ellingson. Dee was a farmer, stock man and operated Ellingson Brothers Trucking with his brother Dale. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Lions Club, Odd Fellows Lodge and was a volunteer for the Lancaster Fire Department for years.
Dee is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Alfred & Dale Ellingson, three sisters, Ruth Cummings, Martha Schaefer and Anna Bourke.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
