Bobby "Bob" Bruce Rowe, 78 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at his residence.
He was born on June 25, 1931 in Cumberland County, Kentucky, the son of the late William T. Rowe and Roxie Shelley Rowe. He was a retired mechanic for General Electric and a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Bobby was a photographer for the Somernite Cruise and a car enthusiast.
He was survived by four sons, David (and Pam) Rowe of St. Louis, Missouri, Randy (and Michelle) Rowe of Somerset, Kentucky, Michael (and Dot) Rowe of Somerset, Kentucky and Gary (and Kristi) Rowe of Science Hill, Kentucky; two daughters, Paulette Large of Somerset, Kentucky and Michelle (and Mike) Stricker of Austin, Texas; a sister, Patty (and Jack) Smith of Columbia, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
Preceding him in death was his parents, William T. Rowe and Roxie Shelley Rowe.
A memorial was held on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky and then on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky with Bro. Don Coggins officiating. The American Legion Post No#38 Honor Guard conducted full military honors for Bobby.
