Jack was born August 8, 1934, in Diamond, MO, the son of Ockley and Luella Feese Hartley. He attended school in the Diamond School District.
He and the former Esther Webb were united in marriage on June 28, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church; she preceded him in death on October 28, 1988. He then married his best friend; Fredrica Webb on September 26, 2009. Mrs. Hartley survives of the home.
He retired from Rockwell International in 1990 as a maintenance supervisor and he was also a carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his beloved dog Yahtzee, fishing and playing drums with The Back Porch Band. He was a member of the Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Atchison and was baptized May 2, 2009.

HARTLEY is survived by one son; Kevin Hartley, Wichita, KS, two daughters; Kimberly Miller, Cummings, KS, and Cindy Schneider, Highland, NY, one step-son; Robert Webb, Fountain Valley, CA, two step-daughters; Stacey Kentzler and Linda Denton, both of Atchison, one brother; Lafe Hartley, Wathena, KS, two sisters; Mary Coquellette, Jericho Springs, MO, and June Jackson, Kelleyville, OK, eleven grandchildren; Michelle Pickman, Amanda Hitchens, Jessica, Travis, Brittaney, and Caleb Miller, Alex and Margaret Denton, Carol Webb, and Quinn and Jack Schneider. Four great-grandchildren; Ana Rizek, Jacob Pickman, Tristen Hitchens, and Natalie Wood.
He was preceded in death by four brothers; Henry, Carl, Lonnie, and Albert Hartley, and one step-daughter; Kim Folsom.
Services to be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, October 15, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation, Faith Bible Fellowship Building Fund, and the Mt. Vernon Road Fund.
