Henry Lee "Bo" Denton, 82, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, in Jackson.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 pm and again on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, beginning at 2:30 pm followed by a 3:30 pm chapel service at Wright and Ferguson on High Street. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Denton, born August 13, 1927, in Meridian, MS to Henry Lee Denton, Sr. and Lula Mae Hunnicutt, had lived most of his life in Jackson. He was a 1945 graduate of Central High School where he was a member of the "SPO" (Sigma Phi Omega) Fraternity.

He then served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne until his discharge in 1947. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Tulane University where he graduated in 1952.

In 1965, he received his law degree from the Jackson School of Law. After college he worked for several years for General Motors - Pontiac Motor Division and, in 1994, he retired after 34 years from Allstate Insurance. He was an active member of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church where he enjoyed delivering "Meals on Wheels" for a number of years.

As a long time resident of the Ambassador Condominiums for 35 years, he so much loved and enjoyed working with all of the co-owners for 17 years as the "Volunteer" Property Manager. He was a founding and longtime Board Member of his daughter's ballet company, Ballet Magnificat. He enjoyed spending time at the Kroger Coffee Club in Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his #4 daughter, Amy Elizabeth Denton in 1976 and he is survived by his former wife and the mother of his children, Mary Waring Denton of Jackson; three daughters, Kathy Thibodeaux (Keith) of Madison, Kris Jarvis (Eddie) of Ridgeland and Mary F. Denton of Jackson; and three grandchildren, Tara Thibodeaux Drew (Bryce) of Valparaiso, Indiana, Christopher Beau Smith and Kelly Jarvis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ballet Magnificat.
