Blanche Idella Williams was the daughter of James P. and Texana Clark Williams of Coldspring, San Jacinto County, Texas. Her mother died the day after Blanche was born. Blanche was raised by her father's second wife, Clara Virginia Williamson Williams. Throughout her life, Blanche was always a little sad that there were no photographs of her mother, Texana.

On October 7, 1903, Blanche married Joseph Marion Roberts. Three children were born to this marriage. Two of the children, Bennett James and Clara Agnes lived to adulthood. Blanche and Joseph lived in Galveston until 1910 when the family moved to Houston (Brunner), Texas. Brunner later became a part of Houston Heights, Houston, Texas.

Blanche was widowed when Joseph Marion Roberts died suddenly and unexpectedly following surgery in 1938. From that time until her death in 1976 at age 92, she lived with her daughter, Clara Agnes. Both of her children and their families were very attentive and spent holidays and Sundays together with her as a family. Blanche was very active in West End Baptist Church all of the years she lived in Houston. She was well thought of and had many friends in her church and community. She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
