Weldon C. "Pete" Parks

Weldon C. "Pete" Parks, 72, of Roscoe, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, in Abilene.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. His body was cremated. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Carbon. Funeral arrangements are made with McCoy Funeral Home.

Parks was born Sept. 17, 1937, in Carbon, Texas. He was a farmer and worked in cotton gins. He had lived in Roscoe and Sweetwater most of his life. He was a Baptist and a Korean War veteran.

Survivors include sisters, Mary Smith and Betty Graham, both of Frisco; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Nina Parks; and brothers, Russell Odom, Billy Joe Parks and Dutch Parks.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
