Jane Cody Garlow Keane of Mariposa, California, the only living granddaughter of showman William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, has died at age 77.
Jane Keane died Monday, March 23, 1987 in Mariposa. She was born at Cody's North Platte Nebraska, ranch, Scout's Rest, and moved to Cody, Wyoming with her family as a young girl.
Keane had two brothers - Fred Garlow, who died at Cody in 1985, and Bill Cody, the showman's last surviving grandchild.
The children were raised by their grandmother Louisa Cody after their parents, Fred and Irma Garlow, died within four days of each other, during an influenza epidemic in 1918. Irma Garlow was the Cody's youngest daughter.
Jane graduated from high school at Cody in 1927.
She is survived by three daughters.
