Eletha Jamison Melton, 96, died Monday, August 24, 2009, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Marks Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Simmons officiating. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Melton, born Sept. 11, 1912, to the late Dr. and Mrs. Alfred Jamison of Marks, was formerly of a member of the Batesville Presbyterian Church, member of the Daughter's of American Revolution and the Friends of the Library. She was a retired legal secretary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Lowry Melton.

Survivors include: one sister, Linda Jamison Patridge of Batesville.

Memorials may be sent to Community Hospice, 510 Hwy. 51 South, Batesville, Miss. 38606.
