Vincent D. Conway, 89, Aledo, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Lynncrest Manor, Aledo.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. Burial is in St. Joseph Cemetery, rural Preemption. There is no visitation. Memorials to St. Catherine's Catholic Church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Family Funeral Services, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements.

Vincent was born Aug. 8, 1911, to Patrick J. and Julia Kennedy Conway. He married Catherine Walsh Aug. 18, 1936, in Vail, Iowa. She died Oct. 12, 1991.

He graduated from Aledo High School and attended the former Columbia College in Dubuque, Iowa.

He was a lifelong resident of Mercer County, farming in the Perryton Township area, and was a Polled Hereford Cattle breeder.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick J. and Mary Cathleen Conway, rural Galva; a grandson, Patrick J. Conway Jr., Newport News, Va.; nephew, William Cardinal H. Keller, archbishop of Baltimore, Md.; and many other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and four sisters.
