BAIRD Aug.,3 — Funeral for Felix E. Mitchell, has been tentatively set for 3 p.m. Friday at the Methodist Church here.
Mr. Mitchell had been Callahan County Attorney since 1932. He died unexpectedly at his home here with at 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Officiating will be the Rev. G. C. Williams of Clyde, with the Rev. Royce Womack, Methodist pastor here assisting.
Burial will he in the Ross Cemetery under the direction of Wylie Funeral Home.
Mr. Mitchell's death was attributed to a heart attack.
Teacher 25 Years
Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Mitchell taught school for 28 years with his first position being with the Old Britten Training School, a college at Scranton.
Mr. Mitchell passed the Texas bar examination in 1920 and began practicing law at Cross Plains; He was elected county attorney in 1932 and held the position until the time of his death.
Born Dec. 30, 1881, in Erath County, he was married to the former Menville Russell Oct., 24, 1903 near Curtis in Eastland County Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. 0. C. Rouse of Fort Worth, Mrs. A. A. Manion of Baird, Mrs. Richie Bellamy of Roswell N.M., Mrs. La Verne McElrath with her husband, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., Mrs. Fred Thomson of Clinton Okla, and Mrs. V.V. Scarpelli of Midland; two sons, John H Mitchell of Medford, Ore., and Dan Mitchell of Cottonwood; one brother, Emmett Mitchell of Colorado City; two sisters Mrs. George Plummer of Seymour and Mrs. D.F. Woodell of Galveston; 23 grand children and 9 great-grandchildren.
