LaMar R. Ercanbrack, 83, of Orem, died Tuesday, February 11, 1997, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born Oct. 8, 1913 in Provo, Utah, a son of Raymond Gilbert and Ida Ashton Ercanbrack. He married Marian Campbell Dec. 17, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Lincoln High School and Lincoln Seminary in Orem. He attended BYU. He was employed in his early life in the Park City Mines, and at the Draper Poultry. He spent most of his life working at Geneva Steel at a security officer. He raised registered quarter horses and registered short horned cattle. He was a member of the Orem Riding Club. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and traveling. He was a family man and "Grandpa" to all, and loved by all.He was a High Priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as Deacon's Quorum advisor, Young Men's counselor, extractor in the church family history program, and temple worker.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, of Orem; his children, David L. and Lucy Ercanbrack, Deanne Ercanbrack, all of Orem; and Marilee E. and Greg Jolley, Provo; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his brother Bert, and a grandson, Jason Brady Jolley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Vermont First Ward, 400 East 400 North, Orem. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 600 East 800 North, Orem, and Friday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
