Mrs. Ferguson Passes Away
Last Wednesday morning at five o'clock the sweet spirit of Mrs. J E Ferguson passed away, following an illness of several weeks.
This splendid Christian woman was born in 1861, having reached the age of 74. At the age of 26 she united with the Baptist Church and had lived a consistent Christian life since that time.
For several years Mrs. Ferguson's health had been failing but her condition did not become alarming until a few weeks ago. This good and useful woman will be greatly missed from the community in which she had lived for many years.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church Thursday afternoon with Rev. S P Andrews in charge. He was assisted by Rev. G A Baker. Interment was made in the Schooner Valley Cemetery under a mound of beautiful flowers.
Preceding Mrs. Ferguson to the grave were three of her children, Mrs. J S Collums, Messrs. Sim and Forest Ferguson. Surviving are the grief stricken husband and four children: Mrs. Britt Gordon, Misses Cora and Alice, and Mr. Price Ferguson; also six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
