Wounded and captured at battle of Peach Tree Creek, Ga. Died at Griffin, Ga. as POW. Death date is approximate.

He along with four other Prisoners of War were removed to Marietta National Cemetery in 1867 from the City Cemetery in Griffin, Ga. There is a stone for him in that cemetery ordered in 1960 by a local resident who must not have known the history of the removal of Union Soldier remains to Marietta National Cemetery after the war. Perhaps she found an old headboard or written record recording the grave and thought that soldier was still buried there. See U.S., Headstone Applications for Military Veterans, 1925-1963 for Nathan Kellogg on ancestry.com.Union Soldier POW was originally buried in Griffin City Cemetery.
