Albert Stanley Wimberley, born on January 18, 1917 was the son of Charles Rufus "Rufus" and Vernon Alberta (Lawrence) Wimberley. When Vernon Alberta Lawrence was 15, she married 23 year-old Charles Rufus Wimbeley, who also grew up in Hays County. The couple had four children--Charles (03-14-1913), Maud (01-1-1915), Albert (01-18-1917) and Rufus (02-10-1922). All the children were born in Wimberley or San Marcos where Vernon and Charles made their home for their entire lives. Vernon was a homemaker while her husband, Charles, worked as a maintenance engineer for the University in San Marcos. Charles died in 1969 and Vernon in 1986 and both are buried in the San Marcos Cemetery.

Albert Stanley Wimberley graduated from Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marco, Texas. He met his wife to be, Mary Edith Walton, while he was attending Southwest Texas State College and they were married on March 3, 1938. They were the parents of one daughter, Enoyse Wimberley. Enoyse Wimberley married Walt Sommer and they gave Stanley and Mary Edith five grandchildren for the grandparents and family to enjoy. Their grandchildren were Stanley (10-25-1966), Maura (09-23-1969), and twin to Maura, Trey (09-23-1969), Nathan (12-18-1971) and Karl Sommer (07-18-1973).

Albert Stanley Wimberley served in the U. S. Army in Europe during World War II and was a training specialist with the Air Force in Amarillo, Texas and with the Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserves.
