Vivian Marie Grant of Cleburne passed away Monday, June 29, 2009, at the age of 99.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Thursday in the Field Street Baptist Church parlor. Burial: Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crosier-Pearson-Cleburne Funeral Home,
Cleburne.
She was born Oct. 8, 1909, in Jasper, Mo., the daughter of Silas Buck Frazier and Mary Osborne. She grew up in southern Missouri and married Ace Allen Grant in 1931 in Globe, Ariz. Together, they had two children, Betty Marie Grant Hoover and Robert A. Grant. They were married 60 years before Ace's death in 1992.
They traveled extensively before settling in Texas for their retirement years. She was always an active member of the Baptist Church, and most recently was a greeter at Field Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter; sister, Evelyn Maupin; and brothers, Orville Frazier, Ray Frazier and Sam Frazier.
Survivors: Her sister, Viva Maillard of Hilton Head, S.C.; her son, Robert Grant and wife, Mona, of Crowley; grandchildren, Denise Coy and her husband, Steve, of Newcastle, Wyo., Craig Hoover and wife, Jeanne, of Tucson, Ariz., Curt Hoover of Lenexa, Kan.; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Coy, Dylan Hoover and Tyler Hoover.
