He was survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn; two daughters, Mary Lou Newlon of Silver Springs, MD., and Margaret Crawford of Lavaca; two sons, Larry of Cleveland, Tenn., and David of Colorado Springs, Colo; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was previously married to Lucile Riggs (1910-1992) and they had the following children:
