Services for Jack A. Odom, 82, Sulphur, formerly of Norman were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11 at Lexington Cemetery under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.

Born October 20, 1923 in Lexington to Tom and Orbie Odom, he died Wednesday, Nov. 9 in Sulphur.

He married Wanda Mae Smith on January 14, 1947 and the couple lived in Norman for 36 years before moving to Sulphur. He served in the Field Artillery branch of the U.S. Army. He was an electrician for Black Sivals and Bryson Company for twenty-six years. He served as a state representative from Norman from1962 to 1964. He also served as vice-president of the State AFL-CIO from 1964 to 1968. He then worked 13 years part-time at the State House of Representatives Post Office in the State Capitol. He also was a real estate broker selling in the Norman and Sulphur areas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Loretta McDonald.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Wanda, of the home; two sons, Larry and wife, Sue, of Hollis, and Marvin and wife, Debbie, Sherman, Texas; four grandchildren, Jane Ann and husband, Charles Testerman, Hollis, Julie and husband, Jim Bob Hawkins, Stillwater, Dustin and Linsey Odom, Sherman, Texas; five great grandchildren; two brothers, R.L. (Doc) and wife, Lessie, Oklahoma City, and Tommie, Lexington; two sisters, Peggy, Choctaw, and Lavern, Dallas, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
