Robert M Chilcote, formerly of 2522 Seventh Avenue, Altoona, died at Mercy Hospital at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 5, 1949, after a brief illness.
He was born in Mapleton Depot, Dec. 29, 1878, the son of Jacob and Catherine (Park) Chilcote and retired as a PRR blacksmith in March 1943 after 30 years service.
Mr Chilcote had been blind for the past three years. He made his home with his niece, Mrs. Charles Querry of Mapleton Depot, and was of the Methodist faith.
His wife, Mrs Winifred M (Cramer) Chilcote died Aug. 16, 1942.
Surviving are two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Mary Dell, Mrs. Chloe Dell and Monroe Chilcote, all of Mapleton Depot.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the N.A.Stevens Memorial Chapel in Altoona, in charge of the Rev. Max Houser. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery, Altoona.
