ROSENBERGER, Johann He died on 30 July 1923 on the farm of his son-in-law, John PROBST near Millstadt, age 80 years and buried on 2 August 1923 at Zion Cemetery [Freivogel Cemetery, near Millstadt]. He was born on 14 July 1843 at Friesenheim, Kanton Mutterstadt, Rheinbaiern, a son of Johann ROSENBERGER, who died 10 July 1887 & Katharina, nee ROESCHLE, who died 5 Feb. 1878. In 1848, he came to America and first settled at St. Louis, then later on a farm at Saxtown. He was married on 18 October 1863 to Miss Engel Louise Justine KIRLEIS, a daughter of Ludwig KIRLEIS & Louise, nee LUDOLF. [Her father died on 7 Jan. 1873 and her mother on 18 July 1919.] The couple settled on a farm in Saxtown, where his spouse died on 23 May 1880. In 1898, the family moved to Millstadt. He is survived by these children: Anna, wife of Edward ABEGG; Pauline, wife of John PROBST; Wilhelmine, wife of Louis W. MUSKOPF; Bertha, wife of John ETTELDORF; also 11 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren. [page 213 # 735]
