Edith Mae Stewart, 83, 718 Stone St., passed away Wednesday, April 2, 1986, at her home.

She was born at Rulo on October 6, 1902. Her father was the late Harvey Roberts and her mother was the late Irene (Palmer) Roberts.

She and Foy J. Stewart were married in Oregon, MO on March 3, 1925. Mr. Stewart died June 11, 1956. She had lived most of her life in the Rulo and Falls City areas. She was employed as a waitress at the former Crosstown Cafe and at Camp Rulo.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church at Rulo, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 102, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 1765, was a Gold Star mother, was a member of the Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge No. 103 and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Included among the survivors are one daughter, Leona (Mrs. William) Mount, Falls City; one son, William Dale Stewart, Tillamok, OR; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James R. Stewart, in Germany, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rulo and will be conducted by the Rev. A.K. Saul.
