He was preceded in death by parents, Avery Earl Agee and Blossom Agee (Lowry); Avery Earl Agee Jr.; and sisters, Mrs. Betty Sutherland and Mrs. Elanore Corrine Callaway, all of Springfield.
Mr. Agee is survived by his wife, Linda Agee (McAtee); son, James T. (Jim) Agee Jr.; daughter, Terrie Lynn Cruz; brother, Edward Alvin Agee; sister, Mrs. Velta Mae Melrose, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Agee retired after 30 years of driving trucks; 12 years with Frisco Transportation Company, and 18 years with Associated Wholesale Grocers of Springfield.
After retiring Mr. Agee and his wife, Linda Agee, moved from Springfield and built their dream home in Charity, Mo. Mr. Agee became a valued member of the Dallas County Sheriff's Posse. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #620 in Willard, Mo.; lifetime member of the NRA; long time member of the Springfield Bench Rest Shooters Club; lifetime member of Teamsters Union Local 245 in Springfield. He had also recently become a member of the Missouri Organ Donors (upon his death).
Mr. Agee was a fine man whose honesty, integrity and strength of character, combined with a robust sense of humor and a voice as big as his stature, gained him many friends both loyal and lifelong, where ever he went.
Mr. Agee had many hobbies he greatly enjoyed. His most cherished treasure was the love of his wife Linda and the joy and love they shared for more than 48 years together. His love for his wife, Linda and their two children, was unending and unconditional. His family and friends were his happiness.
The sudden and tragic loss of Mr. Agee is deeply felt by his family, friends and neighbors. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him for many years to come.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 in White Chapel Cemetery, 5234 W. Division (Hwy EE), Springfield, Mo.
The family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to Dallas County Sheriff's office; American Heart Association; National Rifle Association (NRA); National Organ and Tissue Donors Bank; or Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
