She was a graduate of Winthrop College and received a master's of education degree from the University of South Carolina. She was a retired schoolteacher, and a member of the Presbyterian Church at Manning.
Surviving besides her husband of Manning are a daughter, Ellen Olin Perdue and husband, Bruce, of Goose Creek; a brother, Louis Arlo Holliday Jr. and wife, Gayle, of Beaufort; a sister, Dr. Vivian Loyrea Holliday of Wooster, Ohio; a granddaughter, Danielle Elizabeth Perdue; two nephews, Louis Arlo Holliday III and Jeffrey Lee Overby Holliday; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
