Ethel Inez Reynolds Ratliff, 94, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009, in Granbury.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Interment: Squaw Creek Cemetery. Visitation: Tuesday morning until service time.
Memorials: Mission House Hospice.
Ethel was born April 12, 1915, in Granbury to Thomas Fitch and Sopha Layne Reynolds. She married Ben Ratliff on Nov. 28, 1935, in Glen Rose. When they first married, they lived in San Antonio and in the early 1940s, moved back to the Glen Rose area where they remained until 1962. They then moved to Joshua to run a laundry and remained there until 2008 when Ethel moved to the assisted living facility, the Courtyards at Lake Granbury. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Joshua and the Glen Rose Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Survivors: Sons and wives, Billy J. and Joan Ratliff of Albuquerque, N.M., Weldon E. Sr. and Francis Ratliff of Whitney and John R. and Kathleen Ratliff of Granbury; grandchildren and spouses, Sherry Kay and Terry Smith, Judy and Mike Taylor, Weldon Jr. and Margaret Ratliff, Steven and Christina Ratliff and Malinda and Phillip Greene; great-grandchildren, Justin Smith, Travis Smith, Jake Ratliff, Zack Ratliff, Luke Ratliff, Amanda Schaefer, Charlie Schaefer and Cason Greene; sister and husband, Lynette and J.C. West of Glen Rose; brothers-in-law and wives, Eugen S. and Ruth Ratliff of Glen Rose and Dan and Pat Ratliff of Bay City; many nieces and nephews.
