James D. Hawn, 54, of Harriman, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at his home.

Born Oct. 29, 1954, in Oliver Springs, he was a lifelong resident of the area. A disabled construction worker, he was employed at Blalock Construction Co. for 15 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Family Worship Center in the Stevens community of Morgan County.

He was preceded in death by parents, Vester and Nellie Ruth Hawn; brothers, Vester Jackson Hawn and William Maynard Hawn; and sisters, Geraldine Ruth Duncan, Frances Pearl Ellison and Betsy Marie Ray.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sarah Russell Hawn of Harriman; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica Rene and John Posey of Melbourne, Fla., and Marlena Roseann and David McCollough of Cocoa, Fla.; son, Anthony Hawn of Harriman; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Ethel Hawn and Joseph Hawn, all of Clinton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Bud Underwood of Kingston, Margaret and Jim York and Zola and Tony Brown, all of Oliver Springs, Patricia and Joe Schubert of Cleveland, Rose and Danny Freeman of Riceville and Rebecca and Butch Kendig of Clinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends and extended family members.

Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17, in Sharp Funeral Home chapel, Oliver Springs, with Pastors Frank and Barbara Price officiating. Graveside service and burial were at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Clinton.
