Virginia Madge Gardner Stalcup
Virginia Madge Gardner Stalcup, 84, of Bloomington, died Wednesday at Beverly Healthcare.
Born Aug. 20, 1915, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Alfred A. and Alta M. (Nichols) Carpenter.
She was a member of Greene County United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Miller of Solsberry and Judy Sherer of Bloomington; two sons, Phillip Gardner of Bloomington and Rodney Gardner of Solsberry; three sisters, Mildred Fivecoats and Regina Freeman, both of Indianapolis, and Phyllis Fitzwaters of Bainbridge; 15 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alexander Gardner; her second husband, Harvey John Stalcup; one son, James Gardner; an infant daughter; one sister, Gerry Gardner; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Day Mortuary with Pastor Bob Clendening officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
