Ruby Marie Gerardy, 95, of Atchison, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Golden Peaks Nursing Home, Ft. Collins, CO.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials in honor of Mrs. Gerardy are suggested to the United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association and may be left in care of the funeral home. Ruby was born August 22, 1913 in Pontiac, KS the daughter of John and Minnie (Schaffer) Olson. She married John Gerardy on June 30, 1934 in El Dorado, KS and later they moved to Atchison. Ruby was a homemaker who belonged to the Doll Club, Valley Quilt Guild, and NE Kansas Quilt Guild in Nortonville, KS.
She is survived by a daughter, Pat Finnerty, Ft. Collins, CO; 3 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Ruby's parents, husband and son; John Gerardy, Jr., preceded her in death.
