Wifes name was Bertha Marrow Overturf, they were married 1902

Ben and Bertha built the Deer Park Cabin Lodge in Sawpit Canyon in 1907. In 1911, the wooden lodge was turned into a barn and a stone lodge built using boulders from the creek was built. It was a popular tourist destination until the March 1938 flood wiped out the trails. The Overturff family used the lodge as a weekend getaway until the late 1940s. The lodge was removed by the U.S. Forest Service due to vandalism and nothing remains except the concrete foundation and lower stone walls.
