Clement Paul "Babe" Whipple, age 54, of Omaha passed away at his home in Omaha on Saturday, April 25, 2009.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center in Santee, NE.

Visitations will begin Monday and continue until the time of the service on Thursday. A prayer service will be held each evening at 7 p.m. at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center in Santee.

Interment will be in the Congregational Cemetery, Santee, NE. Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, S.D., is in charge of arrangements.

Babe was born July 30, 1954, in Creighton, NE. He attended school in Niobrara, NE. He also attended Mason Elementary, Bancroft JR High and South High in Omaha, NE. He was married to his wife Maggie for twenty seven years. Babe was an artist. He designed his own T-shirts, made tipi lamps, beadwork, and many other crafts. He and his wife Maggie traveled to Pow wows all over the country. He loved his kids and grandkids and enjoyed the times when the whole family got together.

Babe was preceded in death by his parents, Lovey Valandra and Paul Whipple, his brother Newton Whipple, his grandparents Clement Valandra and Sophie Frazier, Linda Lawrence and Henry Whipple.

Babe is survived by his wife Margaret (Maggie) Whipple; two sisters, Linda Whipple of Santee, NE, and Loretta Witt of Martin, S.D.; children, Raymond (Rick) Brock and Cynthia (Cindy) Brock and daughter-in-law Jessica Brock, all of Omaha; two nieces he thought of as daughters Bernadette and Janelle Whipple of Santee, NE; and eight grandchildren, Phillip, Tony, Breezy, Brandon, Kylie, Alex, Ricky and Mari and numerous other nieces and nephews he loved very much.
