Allie L. Belcher, 80, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, was born May 28, 1928 to Roy and Vina Stinebaugh Lackey in San Angelo, TX and passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 in a Baytown healthcare facility. A longtime resident of Del Rio, she met Clifton Belcher on a blind date at the Del Rio horse track. He asked her to marry him on their third date and they were married on July 27, 1947. In the early 1980's, Cliff and Allie were part of the founding membership of Northside Baptist Church in Del Rio, where she was an active member. She was a homemaker and a member of the Del Rio Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy Lackey Jr. and loving husband of 60 years, Clifton Cochran Belcher and is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Robert C. and Diane Belcher of Denver, CO and Billy Belcher of Baytown; brother and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Nan Lackey of San Angelo and Louise Lackey of Pflugerville; and grandchildren, Jessica Belcher and Rhett Belcher, both of Denver, CO and Brenton Belcher, Jackson Belcher and Carrigan Belcher, all of Cordelle, GA.
