from the Hiawatha Daily World, Nov. 30, 1972:
"Mollie G. Hayes, 88, Hiawatha, died early Thursday morning, November 30, 1972, at the Falls City Community Hospital, where she had been a resident of Sunny Court Nursing Home for some time previous to her hospitalization. Born near Reserve on February 18, 1884, Mrs. Hayes had spent her entire life in this area. She was married to Clifford Theodore Hayes on February 16, 1902, and they farmed for many years in the Reserve community before his death in December of 1952. Mrs. Hayes moved to Hiawatha to make her home at 202 Utah in 1965. She was a member of the Reserve Christian Church. Her survivors include one daughter, Martha Swaim, one sister, Stella Brackhahn, one brother, Robert Hart, two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held from the Meek Mortuary Chapel at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, December 2, with the Reverend Harold Wolf officiating. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha. Friends may call at the mortuary from Friday morning until time of services Saturday."
