Jeannie was born December 19th, 1949 in Pike County, KY, the daughter of Frances Reed Lockard and the late Condor Lockard.
Jeannie is survived by her husband of 38 years John F. Rivard of Turkey Creek, KY and formerly of Clinton, MA and her son Joshua Rivard and his fiancée Maggie Knight of Louisville, KY. Jeannie also leaves her mother, two brothers and four sisters, all of KY.
Apart from her family in Kentucky Jeannie also leaves her brother and sister-in-law Michael and Pamela Rivard and a sister-in-law Frances Rivard all of Worcester, a sister and brother-in-law Anne and Caesar DiTullio, nephews David and Daniel DiTullio all of Clinton and a niece and nephew, whom she cherished, Allyson and Thomas Rivard of Worcester.
Jeannie lived in Clinton and was employed by the former New England Telephone Company of Worcester for several years before her return to Kentucky. At the time of her death Jeannie was employed by the Appalachian Regional Hospital as a medical encoder. Jeannie was a communicant and active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Williamson, WV where she was also a member of the church choir.
Jeannie was an avid reader and marathon runner and was in training for her first triathlon when diagnosed with her second bout of cancer. Jeannie faced death in the same way which she lived her remarkable life, with grace, dignity and her ever present beautiful smile. Her love for her family, friends and her strong faith were of great comfort to her as she battled cancer.
Jeannie's funeral was held on March 24th from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, burial followed in the Reed Family Cemetery in Turkey Creek, KY.
