From his obituary: A member of Masonic Lodge No. 279, Mr. Pouncey was a civilian military instructor during World War I and retired from the commercial refrigeration business in Brownwood after 45 years. Mr. Pouncey was a Scouter and outdoorsman, and was a pioneer in area scouting. He organized the first B.S.A. council, called the Pecan Valley Council, and was acting scout executive, served as treasurer for the council, and was a scoutmaster twice. He founded and operated the Brownwood business that eventually was named Pouncey Refigeration Co.
