Alma A. Bacheller, 87, of Fort Gratiot, passed away on February 15, 2009 after a short illness.
She was born on July 14, 1921 in Yale, MI to the late, Hugh and Amelia Wilson.

Alma married Lester J. Bacheller on June 22, 1946 at her parent's home. Les passed away on February 4, 2006.

Alma was a member of First United Methodist Church since 1952. She was past president of the United Methodist Women in 1974 and 1975, longtime member of the Deborah and Lydia Circle, and Methodettes.
She was a life member and Past Worthy Matron of O.E.S. Port Huron Chapter #170.

Alma was employed at Mueller Brass during World War II and a homemaker.

Alma enjoyed camping, reading, crossword puzzles, the Detroit Tigers and being a grandmother.

She is survived by her two sons, John (Elaine) and Michael (Susan) Bacheller of Port Huron; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bacheller of Clyde, MI; and five grandchildren: Kara, Keith, Tessa, Maggie and Robbie Bacheller; sister, Saloma Hayes of Traverse City and her children; and sister-in-law, Helen (Charles) Brown of Brights Grove, Ont.

She had many gracious and caring friends and neighbors especially, Bill and Liz Bell.

Alma is preceded in death by her loving son, David H. Bacheller on May 22, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 828 Lapeer Ave. The Rev. David Gladstone, pastor of First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street, Port Huron, and Thursday 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church.

A private interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
Pallbearers will be John, Mike, Keith and Robbie Bacheller, Charlie Brown and Bill Bell.

In Lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to First United Methodist Church.
