My third-great grandfather, Thomas Smith Watkins, stated that he was born in KY according to census information. He states his father was born in VA and his mother in KY on the 1880 census. I have only been able to determine two of his children's names with his FIRST WIFE, Susan Clarke, widow of Jesse B. Garth and daughter of Thomas King Clarke and Elizabeth Garth of VA: Susan Cora (from whom I descend) and William A., although he had an older son as well. With his SECOND WIFE, Margaret Jane Snipes, he had two more daughters Mary Cornelia and Cynthia Alice.
