Leslie E. Watson, 62, a former Springtown city councilman and a past president of the Springtown Chamber of Commerce, died March 16 in a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral for Watson, a retired test lab employee at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, was at 2 pm March 19 in the White's Chapel in Springtown. Burial was in Springtown Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.
Watson was a native of the Bennett community in Parker County and had lived in Springtown for 22 years.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Watson was a member of South Side Church of Christ in Mineral Wells, the Weatherford Masonic Lodge, and Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post No. 2137 in Azle.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie "Babe" Watson of Springtown; son, Jerry Watson of Fort Aransas; daughters, Cynthia Watson, Carla Watson Rippin and Sarah Leslie Watson, all of Springtown; brothers, Wilbur Watson of Missouri, O P Watson of Kansas City, Kansas, Gravis Watson of Weatherford; sister, Lola Mullinax of Marshall; and five grandchildren.
