Funeral services for Ulysses S. Cooper, 81, of Rising Star were conducted Friday afternoon in the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dick Williams officiating. Interment followed in Long Branch Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper died Wednesday at a Rising Star nursing center.
Born Aug. 7, 1907, in Carbon, Eastland Co., Mr. Cooper married Nell McAlister of Dec. 22, 1927 in Carbon. He was a member of the Baptist faith and a retired farmer.
Mr. Cooper resided for 45 years at Muleshoe in Bailey Co. before retiring and moving back to Eastland Co. 15 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Cooper of Rising Star; two daughters, Gerri Cornett of Rising Star and Ginger Witcher of Waco; two sisters, Opal Criswell and Alvis Kinard, both of Rising Star; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Higginbotham Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
