Local Woman Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Eloise MONTEZ, 41, of Abilene, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday while en route to Hendricks Memorial Hospital. She became ill while at her home on Oldham Rd.

Born May 15, 1914, she had lived here all of her life. She married Jesse MONTEZ in Abilene in 1930.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Spanish Catholic Church. The Rev. FERNANDEZ, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery under direction of Kiker-Warren Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state at 421 Ash St. until time of the service.

Mrs. MONTEZ is survived her husband, four sons, Jimmy, Jesse, Johnny and Ben, all of Abilene; seven daughters, Mrs. Betty SANDOVAL of Fort Worth, Mrs. Hope CRUZ, 541 North Treadaway Blvd., Mary, Frances, Manuela, Rosalinda, and Mary Ellen, all of the home; her mother Mrs. Katie SPARZA of Abilene; three brothers, Alfonzo, Matio and Francisco SPARZA, all of Abilene; three sisters, Mrs. Jimmy SPARZA, and Mrs. Rita CRUZ, both of Abilene, and Mrs. Domiaga GONZALES of El Paso.
