Born to Fred Henry and Christine Amanda (Powers) Rodocker. Mr. Rodocker attended school in Lead where he later graduated. After graduation he moved to Brewster, Nebraska. At that time he started working as an automobile mechanic for his father. On January 30, 1951 DeVern entered into the service of his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He served as a Medic Parachutist. Sergeant Rodocker was honorably discharged on January 29, 1954; he had obtained the following decorations: the Parachutist Badge, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survived are his loving wife; one son and wife; one sister; four grandchildren; one great granddaughter; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at 2:00 pm in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
