Mr. Chilcote was born on March 5, 1899 in Smith Valley, Cass Township, Huntingdon County, the son of Monroe and Nora Alice (Dell) Chilcote, both of whom are deceased. He was united in marriage to Miss Ethel Cornelius on October 31, 1923, who survives.
For the past thirty years, Mr. Chilcote was employed by the North American Refractories Company in Mount Union, and was forced to retire on April 28, 1958 because of ill health.
He was a member of the Mill Creek Bible Fellowship.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by these brothers and sisters: Jesse Chilcote of Mapleton Depot; Mrs. Everett (Kathryn) Nycum of Saltillo; Mrs. E.J. (Edna) Miller of Williamsburg; Walter Chilcote of Huntingdon, R.D.; Mrs. Austin (Freda) Ramsey of Mapleton Depot. A daughter, Miriam, died in 1935. Also preceding him in death were one brother, Rollin, and a sister, Lola Shoop.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 30, at 2 p.m. from Bowman's Chapel Methodist Church, Mapleton Depot. Officiating will be the Rev. Sheldon Bard of the Mill Creek Bible Fellowship. Interment will be made in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of McClain's funeral home, Cassville.
Friends will be received at the late home after 2 p.m. on Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday, and then at the church until the hour of the service.
