Elena Clairesse Hopper was born November 8, 1936 in Lamesa, Texas to George Barkowsky and Clara (Monthey) Barkowsky. She married William Eugene Hopper on June 16, 1955 in Lamesa, Texas. She was a faithful employee of the Cogdell Clinic for 24 years serving as a Medical Assistant.
Her favorite pasttimes were sewing, doing crafts, playing dominoes and cooking. She also enjoyed fishing, but her most cherished time was spent with her family whom she loved dearly.
She was a member of the Trinity Assembly Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Elena is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Cliff Hopper and a brother, Al Barkowsky.
Those left to cherish yer are her husband of over 53 years, Bill Hopper of Floydada; a son, David Hopper and wife, Cindy of Lubbock; a daughter, Jan Campbell and husband, David of Henrietta, Texas; two brothers, Cotton Barkowsky and Red Barkowsky; a sister, Janette Kinard; seven grandchildren, David, Angie, Mikel, Morgan, Brandon, Kalli and Rusty and five great-grandchildren.
