Military: Army National Guard during the early 1950s.

Married: June 4, 1977, to Judy (O'Neill) Kenton.

Worked for B&C Steel, West Co. and Armor Meats; began driving trucks for Yellow Freight in Kearney, 1967, retired in 1994; received many safe driving awards and logged more than 1 million accident-free miles.

Activities: was baptized, was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Lexington; pastimes included time spent with family and friends, attending music festivals, and cooking for family and friends; played guitar and sang with many area bands.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Gary Adams and wife, Sandy, of Grand Island, Errol Adams and wife, Kathy, of Kearney, Dennis Adams of Nebraska, Mike Kenton and his wife, Connie, of Gibbon, Toby Kenton and his wife, Kelli, of Tucson, Ariz., and Russ Kenton and his wife, Cindy, of Kingman, Ariz.; daughter, Denise Adams and her fiance, Mark Ruzicka, of Grand Island; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Dorothy O'Neill of Kearney; and brother-in-law; Bob O'Neill and his wife, Jean, of Scottsbluff.

Was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Delores Hasty.
