Raymond Oscar Johnson, son of John M. and Sarah Noble Johnson, was born April 13, 1898, in Republic County, and died November 27, 1983 at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 85 years, seven months and 14 days.
He received his education in the rural schools of Republic County.
He was united in marriage to Bertha A. Simmons July 28, 1940, and to this union one daughter was born. Mrs. Johnson died October 2, 1958.
He was united in marriage to Bessie Tipton July 9, 1967.
He lived in Republic County his entire lfe (sic). He was a farmer and stockman until his retirement.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Belleville; Republic Lodge No. 123 AF&AM, the Salina Consistory and the Isis Shrine; the Sons of the American Revolution.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Bertha; one brother, John A.; his sisters: Hildred, Anna, Mary, Mildred and one infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Grace) Fishel of St. Louis, Mo.; nieces and nephews.
