Born May 12, 1927 in Carthage, he was the son of John Ervin and Vera English Anderson. He was reared in Panola County and attended Liberty Chapel Schools. Anderson, who served with the United States Army as a paratrooper, was an operating engineer of heavy equipment and a Union Steward in Union Local #819 of Fort Worth.
He had been a member of Faith Assembly of God Church since 1993 where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Carthage. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Ervin Anderson Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Bea Anderson, of Henderson; sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and MeloDee Welch, and Wayne and Phyllis Welch, all of Garland; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Roy and Letha Jane Anderson, of Pine Hill, and Buford and Mozelle Anderson, of Kilgore; sister and brother-in-law, Tommie and Bill Hight, of Carthage; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Royce, Billy, Bobby, Jimmy and Delmar Anderson, Randy Berry, and Jason and Matt Davis.
