Harry C. St. John, son of John Pierce St. John and his first wife Mary Jane Brewster. Harry married Ada Elizabeth Stout May 12, 1875. They had four children. The first child, Helen died very young. Harry was a lawyer and served one term in the Oklahoma Territorial Legislature in 1890. His first wife Ada divorced him because of alcoholism and he later married Mary E. Felton on January 8, 1887. On April 3, 1895 while living in Oklahoma, Harry confronted his wife with a letter from another man and in a fit of anger shot and killed her. While awaiting either sentencing or trial, Harry died of the flu in Oklahoma City on October 10, 1896. His body was sent home to Olney by train, his father meeting the train enroute. He was buried in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney, the home of his birth.
