Joseph Andrew Webb was the son of Robert C Webb and Ophilia Hightower Webb and the brother of William Norman Webb who is buried at Carroll Springs Cemetery. Two other brothers, Marvin Webb and Charles A Webb, are buried in Ash Cemetery on Highway 31 between Murchison and Athens.

Athens--Funeral services for J.A. Webb, 83, of Athens, are set for 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Owens and the Rev. Allan Bronson officiating. burial will be in the Red Hill Cemetery in Henderson County.

He died early Sunday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Van Zandt County, but had resided here most of his life. He was a retired railway employee with the St. Louis Southwestern Railroad. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Gene Webb of Athens; four brothers, Monroe Webb of Dallas, Bill Webb of Fort Worth, Robert Webb of Troup and Charlie Webb of Athens; three sisters, Mrs. Eunice Lewis and Mrs. Vera Ruff, both of Kemp, and Mrs. Rosie Perry of Brownsboro; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Employees of the St. Louis Southwestern Railway will serve as pallbearers.
