Ruth was born in Minneapolis on Dec. 7, 1924, to Anton and Helen Kolbrek.
She went to Mud Hen Lake grade school and graduated from Siren High School. Ruth worked in Minneapolis and Milltown, Wis. Since 1958, she had worked for the James Schwalen farm and home as his housekeeper.
She had a love of many things including fishing, shopping, flowers and vegetable gardens.
Ruth is survived by her special companion, James Schwalen; son, Frank (Rosemary) Paulich, Sr.; grandchildren, Frank (Sheila) Paulich Jr. and Christine (Joe) Solberg; great-grandchildren, Katie Paulich, Mark and Ashley Solberg; sister, Grace Hinrichs; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Olson; three brothers, Arnold, Roy and William Klobrek; uncle, Chris Olson; and two ex-husbands, Frank Paulich and Charles Aanonson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls, and also one hour prior to services at church on Wednesday. Internment will be at German Settlement Cemetery in Hudson.
